Earlobe repair procedure

Earlobe repair is a simple office procedure performed by Dr. Okoro, a board certified plastic surgeon in Atlanta Georgia. The procedure is performed in our office using local anesthesia. It generally takes about 30-45 minutes to complete the repair. Dr. Okoro uses special micro stitches to minimize scarring.

How much does it cost?

Earlobe repair is considered cosmetic and therefore is not covered by insurance. The cost of earlobe repair varies based on the extent of your surgery and the cost of any additional surgery. Generally, the average cost for one earlobe repair is about $750. To make surgery affordable for you, we offer patient financing plans, so be sure to ask.

The cost may include the following:

  • Surgeon’s fee
  • Medication and lab test

Does my Insurance cover it?

Ear lobe repair is an elective procedure. Most health insurance plans will not cover cosmetic earlobe repair, related complications or another surgery to revise the appearance of your body.

However, there may be exceptions. Torn ear lobe is usually considered a cosmetic procedure. Check with your insurance provider to determine benefits and coverage

How about recovery?

Earlobe repair is done in our office as outpatient procedure. Most of our patient are able to return to work or school the same day.

How about pain?

The procedure is essential painless after the local anesthesia is placed. After the procedure, you will be prescribed pain medication. However, the majority of our patients do not need narcotics after earlobe repair.

Can I wear ear rings & ear piercing ?

Generally, a month after the repair, your ears can be pierced. During the healing time, clip on earrings can be worn after about 1-2 weeks.

Your satisfaction involves more than a fee

When choosing a plastic surgeon for earlobe repair, remember that the surgeon’s experience and your comfort with him or her are just as important as the final cost of the surgery. Dr Okoro takes his time to understand your goals and desire for the best long term outcome. Your safety and satisfaction are very important to him.
