Atlanta Rhinoplasty (Nose surgery)

Rhinoplasty or nose surgery, is an operation performed to change or improve the shape of the nose. Nasal deformities may be congenital, may develop as the person grows or may be the result of injury. Rhinoplasty can involve reducing the size of the nose, removing a bony hump, refining the nasal tip, narrowing the nasal bridge, reducing nostril flare, and altering the angle between the nose and upper lip. This procedure can also correct previous nasal injuries and nasal birth defects. Usually unrelated to appearance, breathing problems can also be addressed during a rhinoplasty.
Who is a candidate for nose surgery?
Good candidates have reached a stable weight, do not smoke (or plan to quit), and do not have medical conditions that prohibit safe surgery and normal wound healing. Nose surgery by Dr Okoro is a highly individualized procedure and you should do it for yourself, not to fulfill someone else’s desires. It can be done at any time once nasal growth is complete. In women, this usually occurs by age thirteen, in men by age sixteen. Surgery of the nose is a good option for you if, you have specific, but realistic goals in mind for the improvement of your appearance.
What happens at consultation ?

During your consultation to determine if you are a good candidate for nose surgery, Dr. Okoro will review your health history and perform an examination during your consultation. He will ask you how you would like your nose improved. He will also inquire about any allergy history and previous nose surgery.
Dr. Okoro will carefully examine both the inside and outside of your nose, assessing skin thickness, bone position, and cartilage shape. He will also evaluate any breathing concerns. He will also take preoperative photos during your visit. During the consultation, Dr. Okoro will understand your goals and desires and he will review available techniques and limitations.
The nose surgery procedure
Dr Okoro performs rhinoplasty as an outpatient procedure under general anesthesia in the hospital. We use board certified anesthesiologist or anesthetist. The procedure is designed to hide the incisions within the nose.
What is the cost of surgery?
The cost of rhinoplasty varies based on the extent of your surgery and the cost of any additional surgery. To make your surgery affordable, we offer patient financing plans, so be sure to ask us. The cost may include the following:
- Surgeon’s fee
- Hospital or surgical facility costs
- Anesthesia fees
- Medication and lab test
Can I wear glasses after nasal surgery?
Contact lenses can be worn immediately but glasses will have to be taped to your forehead or propped on your cheeks for up to seven weeks.
