A thigh lift in Atlanta is an operation performed to remove skin and fat from the thighs to tighten the skin and improve the contour of the thighs. Thigh lift surgery can drastically improve the appearance of your thighs. Our cosmetic doctor & Plastic surgeon will explain the latest & best techniques for your situation after consultation.
WHAT HAPPENED TO MY THIGHS?
The combined effects of age, gravity, fluctuations in weight, and a loss of skin elasticity all contribute to loss of tone in the thighs. Aging changes and dramatic weight loss often cause loose skin to collect in the inner thigh area, altering shape and contour of the lower body.
WHO IS A CANDIDATE FOR THIGH LIFT?
Good candidates for thigh lift have reached a stable weight, do not smoke (or plan to quit), and do not have medical conditions that prohibit safe surgery and normal wound healing. Patients whose weight has been stabilized in their weight loss program or who feel they are at their ideal weight are the best candidates for a thigh lift. Many patients combine their thigh lift with other cosmetic procedures such as liposuction. To determine if you are a good candidate for a thigh lift procedure, Dr. Okoro will review your health history and perform an examination during your consultation.
CONSULTATION
During your consultation, Dr. Okoro will review with you the various options available for thigh rejuvenation. He pays close attention to skin tone, existing scars, fat deposits, and muscle abnormalities, as all are important factors that can influence the surgical result. We will also take preoperative photos during your visit. During the consultation, Dr. Okoro will listen to understand your goals and desires and he will review available options and techniques.
THIGH LIFT SURGERY
To tighten and redrape the sagging skin, Dr. Okoro makes incisions of varying length, depending on the extent of redundant skin. Typical incisions are
located along the groin crease and sometimes extend down towards the knee. Liposuction is often added to remove excess fat and improve the final shape. Redundant skin at the outer thigh is normally addressed with a lower body lift.
Dr. Okoro performs thigh lift surgery under general anesthesia as an outpatient procedure. We instruct thigh lift patients to wear a compression garment for several weeks. Light exercise is encouraged soon after surgery but strenuous activity is limited for at least several weeks. Patients may drive and return to work once they discontinue narcotic pain medicine.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
The cost of thigh lift varies based on the extend of your surgery and the cost of any additional surgery. To make surgery affordable for you, we offer patient financing plans, so be sure to ask.
The cost may include the following:
- Surgeon’s fee
- Hospital or surgical facility costs
- Anesthesia fees
- Medication and lab test
- Post-surgery garments
Most health insurance plans will not cover thigh lift surgery, related complications or another surgery to revise the appearance of your body. Please review your health insurance policy.
YOUR SATISFACTION INVOLVES MORE THAN A FEE
When choosing a plastic surgeon for thigh lift, remember that the surgeon’s experience and your comfort with him or her are just as important as the final cost of the surgery. Dr. Okoro takes his time to understand your goals and desire for the best long term outcome. Your safety and satisfaction are very important to him.
